|Summit, still playing without Will Schaffer, got off to a sluggish start in the 1st quarter. Summit slowly clawed their way back and entered the 4th quarter leading 37-36. Hillside regained the lead early in the 4th quarter. It was a wild ride to end of regulation. With less than 9 seconds on the clock Summit was down 50-47 and were in bounding the ball at the Summit end. Summit needed 3 points. Fans were speculating, would they go for a Roriston layup and hope for a foul or to Shipbottom for a 3? It came down to a Finbar McCormick’s 3 point try. He drained it and the game went to overtime.
Summit’s only score in the 4 minute overtime was a trey by McCormick. Meanwhile Hillside scored on 5 of 6 free throws
Summit scoring was led by Malcolm Shipbottom’s 15 points. Dom Yorio had 10 points and a game high 7 rebounds.
