|Summit took on Roselle at home back in January and Summit won in overtime. So, the Hilltoppers were expecting a tough geme when they played on Roselle’s home turf. Roselle grabbed a 20-13 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Summit rallied in the 2nd quarter to take the lead at half time 34-32. Summit’s game plan took advantage of it’s height in the paint as Dom Yorio racked up 11 points in the half. Sophomore Eric Baier also had 11 points, scoring a pair of 3's outside plus a pair of driving FGs.
Malcolm Sidebottom came on strong with 8 points in the 3rd as Summit was up 50-44 going into the into the final 8 minutes. It never pays to count Roselle out and they came roaring back to go ahead 60-58 with only a minute left. Sidebottom came to the rescue with a 3 pointer and then added 2 more from the free throw line to give Summit a three point lead with less than 30 second left. That was a wild half minute, but Summit prevaled
Note: Sidebottom led all scorers with 20 points and Yorio was close behind with 17. Baier was also in double digits with 13 points. Yorio had big game uuder the backboard with 12 reounds and a “double double”.
