Summit waited a little too long to turn up the heat. After falling progressively
behind in the first three quarters Summit got back on track in the fourth
quarter. The Hilltoppers were down 14 at the beginning of the 4th quarter.
Summit, who showed they never give up, came on strong in the fourth with 27
points, but Dover hit 10 of 14 free throws to hang on for the win. Overall,
Dover hit 17 of 21 free throws while Summit managed 10 of 14. That 7 point
difference from the foul line was the final margin of victory. Midway through
the 4th the play turned ragged providing lots of chances for Summit, but we
weren't able to take advantage of the Dover errors.
Summit started the evening with key two players on the sidelines. Chas Carey
was still sick and John Brown was rumored to be on suspension. Happily,
Matt Paccione(6 pts), Brian Rush(4 pts), and Kai Donaldson (2 pts, aka
Campbell) came off the bench and contributed good defense and 12 points.
John Foushee had a personal high of 20 points while Brendan Reilly
contributed 10 and Bob Adams 9.
