This was the third meeting between Summit and Hanover Park. Summit won
the first by 3 and Hanover Park won the second by 4, so it figured to be a close
game. It was! The first half was characterized by Summit turnovers (16 in the
1st half). In spite of the turnovers we were only down 6 at the half. We held
our own during the third quarter and enter the final 8 minutes down by 5. Six
points in the first three minutes of the 4th gave Summit its only lead of the
game. It was short lived as HP answered with a two to regain the lead. That
was the last FG by Hanover Park, but they managed to sink 10 free throws
down the stretch to hang on for the win. As has often been the case we were
outscored 15 to 8 at the foul line. Bren Smith led the Summit Scoring with 14
(his season high). Shellenhamer scored 13 for HP.
