This was the final home game for five Summit seniors. Before the game
started seniors Adams, Carey, Smith, Johnson and Paccione were given special
recognition to a larger than usual crowd. Unfortunately, Mendham came on
strong from the start and by part way through the 3rd quarter the issue had
been pretty much settled. Chas Carey (who had scored 19 points in the first
meeting with mendham) was the target of aggressive double and triple teaming
every time he got his hands on the ball down low. It made for a very long night
for Chas. Whether from frustration or not, Chas found himself in foul trouble
early in the 3rd. As Matt Paccione took the floor to replace Chas a sizable
rooting section stood carrying a sign "GO TREE" (TREE apparently being his
nick name). Their enthusiasm was rewarded as Matt scored a personal high of
8 point to lead the scoring in a 4th quarter rally. John Foushee led the summit
scoring with 13 points. Kyle Helbig scored 14 for Mendham.
