Summit got off to a very slow start and fell behind by 13 at the end of the
1stquarter. Down 12 at the break, it could have been a lot closer but for the
fact that we hit only 1 of 10 free throw attempts in the half. The free throw
drought continued in the 2nd half and early in the 4th quarter we had made only
3 of 18 attempts. We entered the final quarter down 15, but as has been
characteristic of this team Summit didn't quit. We closed to within 5 as Bob
Adams hit three 3s
and John Foushee added another. However, in the final 8 minutes Cranford
dropped in 11 free throws to preserve the win. Summit scored more points in
the final quarter than they had in the entire first three. Ultimately the poor
free throw shooting (only 8 of 26, or 31%) spelled the difference. Bob Adams
contributed 12 of his game high 15 in the final quarter. Chas Carey garnered
14 . Cranford was led by their center Markowitz (16 points) who exhibited a
great touch both inside and just outside the foul line.
