This game was actually closer than the score might have you believe. It
appeared that Chas Carey was a bit under the weather and John Brown was
nowhere to be seen on the bench. So Brendan Reilly and Brennan Smith
replaced them in the starting line up. Reilly grabbed the chance to start by the
throat, sinking 4 of the 6 threes he put up in the first half. He added another
crucial 3 (making it 5 for 7) in the 4th quarter with 2:10 remaining to put
Summit up 55-52. Down the final stretch Dan Johnson and John Foushee sank
5 of 6 free throws to put the game out of reach. Reilly was the high scorer with
17 points.
John Foushee scored 14 and Chas Carey came off the bench for 13. Only six
players saw action for Summit. Summit is now 8 - 7.
For Mt. Olive, Matthews score 18 points (8 Field Goals and 2 FTs)
