*In 2000 the NJSIAA restructured the State Tournament format to allow for sectional and group titles based upon region and school size. Prior to 2000, tournament structure included all qualifying teams regardless or region or school size.

Conference History

The Tri-County Girls' Lacrosse League (teams from Union, Morris, Bergen and Essex Counties) began in 1992 and existed until 1999. The league was renamed the Northern New Jersey Lacrosse Conference and was dissolved in 2001. The larger schools (groups 3 and 4) are in the Stripes Division, the smaller schools (groups 1 and 2) including Summit were in the Stars Division. The 2000 season marked the emergence of girls' lacrosse in the Iron Hills Conference (Summit, West Morris, Mendham, West Essex, Roxbury, Randolph, Livingston, Morristown, Columbia)
