Summit used good defense, timely hitting, and strong pitching to hand Hanover Park a defeat today. Twice the Hilltoppers used inning ending double plays, both 6-4-3, to put a stop to H.P's scoring chances. Mike Mormack was the middle man in both plays and he made the pivot and throw look easy. As far as the hitting goes, it was much more evenly distributed down the lineup than in recent games, as 9 different players collected at least 1 hit. Matt Williams, Paul Krupa, and Chris Kaiser each collected 2 hits on the day. The big hit of the day was provided by Matt Benedetti in the 4th inning when he drove a long bases loaded triple! Freshman Jeff Johnson collected his 2nd RBI in as many days, and shows some real power at the plate.

Matt Williams pitched another strong game. He allowed 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. Summit's next game will be Monday at Caldwell, as the state tournament gets under way. As Andy would say ":Be There"!!!!!
