Matt Williams pitched another fine game and the Summit bats remained active as Summit extended its winning streak to five games. The victory put Summit at 7-7 after being 2-7 only a week ago. Williams pitched a 5 hitter and would have had a shutout except for 2 unearned runs in the 5th inning. Steve Bariexca came on in relief for the 7th inning and effectively shut down Morris Hills.

Summit started fast in the 1st inning. Mike Nelson began the game with a walk. Three successive singles by Williams, Matt Benedetti and Ryan Carey resulted in 2 runs and left 2 runners on base. Sacrifice flies by Nick Monaco and Paul Krupa cleared the bases. A run was added in the 2nd inning on a pair of doubles by Bariexca and Nelson. A single by Rob Delgado and a triple by Williams resulted in another run in the 4th inning. A pair of singles by Monaco and Krupa in the 5th gave Summit 7-2 lead. The final 3 runs came in the 7th inning after 2 out. Nelson was hit by the pitcher, Williams doubled, Benedetti hit a deep fly to left that the fielder dropped and Carey singled.
