Summit lenghtened its winning streak to 8 as Steve Bariexca picked up his 3rd win. Bariexca scattered 8 hits and held Scotch Plains to 2 runs. The day before Scotch Plains had beaten Union, the top Union County seed. Summit continued to bat well and had 15 hits, 5 for extra bases. The hitting was led by the top part of the order. MikeNelson, MattWilliams, Matt Benedetti and Ryan Carey accounted for 10 of Summmit 15 hits. Nelson and Benedetti both had 2 doubles and a single, while Carey and Williams each had a pair of singles.

Things got off to a very good start when Nelson opened with a double. This was followed by singles from Williams and Benedetti. Carey got on with an error and Chris Kaiser wrapped up the inning with a double. All totaled 4 runs crossed the plate. That set the stage for what turned out to be an easy victory.
