Summit's first game under the lights at Tatlock Field drew a great crowd of fans ,but they left disappointed. Mendham dominated the first half as they built a 20-0 lead. Mendham out gained Summit 200 yards to 90 yards by half-time. Summit's passing game was only able to connect on 6 of 15 first half attempts. The 3rd quarter raised the Summit fan's hopes as Mendham was held scoreless. Meanwhile Keith Schroeder connected with Matt Benedetti for a 90 yard TD. The extra point kick was blocked. On Summit's final possession of the quarter Schroeder completed 3 successive throws to move 51 yards for a 2nd TD. JP Coviello caught the first pass at Mendham's 42 and Mike Nelson hauled in the next two to score. The 2-point try failed , but Summit seemed to be back in the game. Unfortunately, Mendham scored on their first possession on the 4th quarter. On Mendham's next possession, Summit held and forced a punt which would of given Summit the ball in good field position, but Summit was flagged for defensive holding (an unusual call on a punting play). Mendham was awarded a 1st down and ultimately scored to put the game completely out of reach.

The 90 yard touchdown pass from Schroeder to Benedetti broke the old Summit record, a pass of 87 yards from Cherry to Duffy in the 1987 Kearney Game.
