Summit scored the first three times they had the ball and jumped to a 17-6 halftime lead. The fireworks started on Summit's very first play. Keith Schroeder opened things up by hitting Matt Williams with a long pass that gained 61 yards to the Mount Olive 11 yard line. Mike Nelson took it the rest of the way on the next play. However, Mt. Olive mounted a sustained drive that went 70 yards in 14 plays. They missed the extra point so Summit remained on top 7-6. Williams took the kickoff and returned the ball to Summit's 39. On the second play from scrimmage Schroeder connected with Nelson for a short pass that Nelson turned into a 58 yard touchdown. On Summit's next possession they drove 72 yards to the Mt. Olive 11 yard line, but the drive stalled and Schroeder kicked a 23 yard field goal.

Summit received to begin the 2nd half and drove 58 yards in 6 running plays with Nelson taking it in from the 1 yard line. On the next Mt. Olive possession something went wrong on a 4th down punt and Summit wound up with the ball on the Mt. Olive 10. After a Summit penalty that nullified a touchdown pass. Schroeder hit Matt Benedetti with a 15 yard TD pass. Summit's next score came when Mike Nelson returned a punt 40 yards. The final Summit TD came after Mike Bernstein intercepted a pass and put Summit on the opponents 27 yard line. Two runs by Nick Monaco put the ball in the end zone, Chris Slama kicked the extra point.

Nelson had his best rushing game of the season as he picked up 121 yard in 17 carries for a average of just over 7 yards per carry. Schroeder had only 4 completions but they resulted in 149 yards and 2 TDs.
