However, Chatham showed they were far from out of it as they scored the first 7 points of the quarter to tie the game at 35-35. Chatham had held Summit scoreless for the first four minutes of the quarter and the momentum of the game had clearly moved to Chatham. Dugan came to the rescue by draining his 2nd 3-point FG of the game. Unfortunately, Chatham managed two free throws to bring it back to a one point advantage for Summit with 2:27 left. Ryan Carey responded with a driving shot that restored the 3 point lead. Again Chatham managed a FG to climb to within one point. Now there were 22 seconds left in the game. Dan Dugan was fouled and sank both ends of a one-and-one. Chatham's 3 point try failed and Dugan was again fouled with 2 seconds left. He missed the shot, but it was all over. Dugan led the scoring with 10 of his 14 point coming in the second half. Carey and Sprinzen scored in double digits with 12 and 10 points respectively. Dugan also led the rebounding with ten. Summit's good free throw shooting played a role in the victory as Summit hit on 10 of 13 attempts compared to 6 of 12 by Chatham. Both Carey and Chris Jones were a perfect 4 for 4 from the line.
