Summit got off to a rather slow start in a game that was expected to be an easy victory. In fact, Dover took an early 7-6 lead. Summit scored the final 7 points of the quarter to lead 13-7. Alex Sprinzen contributed 4 points, but really contributed most by hauling in an amazing 8 rebounds in that opening quarter. The 2nd quarter was played almost even and Summit ended the half with only a 7 point lead. The 3rd quarter was a different story. Summit came out with a full court trapping press that caused turnover after turnover with resulting fast-break baskets. Ryan Carey scored 13 of his game high 22 points in the quarter and the lead grew to 30 points. It was quite a quarter. In the 4th quarter the bench was cleared and even so the lead grew to 35 points. Lamar Freeman and Sprinzen had "double-doubles" . Freeman with 19 points / 11 rebounds and Sprinzen with 11 points / 10 rebounds.
Note: The Mendham game scheduled for Thursday and been moved to Monday 1/29.
