Morris Hills gave Summit a much tougher game than they had in their first meeting. In fact, the game hung in the balance until the buzzer sounded. At the very end Morris Hills was down by three with the ball and managed to get off three attempts at 3-pointers before the buzzer sounded to end the game. Morris Hills must have learned something from the first meeting because in the 1st half they were able to work the Summit defense in such a way that of their 13 field goals, 12 were easy layups. In spite of that, Summit took a 32-26 lead into the locker room at the intermission, led by Ryan Carey's 14 points. In the third quarter Summit began to pull away with the help of 3 FGs by Dan Dugan. As a result, Summit held a 9 point lead with 8 minutes to go.

Morris Hills started the quarter with two quick buckets, and cut the lead to 5. A pair of free throws by Carey was followed by a pair from Morris Hills. Two baskets by Alex Sprinzen sandwiched a 3-pointer by Morris Hills, and another pair of FTs by Carey built the lead back to 8 points. Dugan and Morris Hills traded baskets so with 2 minutes left Summit was still on top by 8 points. Two more FGs by Morris Hills cut the lead to 4 points with 1 minute remaining. After Carey sank his 6th straight free throw of the quarter, Morris Hills answered with a FG and a 3-pointer. Now, with 30 seconds left Summit clung to a 1 point lead. Lamar Freeman was fouled and went to the line and drained both free throws, so Morris Hill got their final possession with 15 seconds left. In those nerve wrecking 15 seconds they managed to get off three attempts while the Summit fans held their breath..

Summit managed only 3 FGs in the 4th quarter, but Carey and Freeman were perfect at the foul line, sinking all 8 of their tries. Carey again led the Summit scoring with 22 points. Dugan and Sprinzen also were in double figures with 13 and 10 respectively.
