Summit got off to a good start, but it was clear that they were going to be in for a real struggle. Alex Sprinzen scored 6 of his game high 19 points in the 1st quarter to help Summit to a 16-14 lead. But things really came unglued in the 2nd and Weequahic's aggressive quickness began to force a number of Summit turnovers leading to easy Weequahic baskets. Summit managed just one FG in that quarter and fell behind by 7 points. Summit was out rebounded and Weequahic really feasted on fast break lay ups. Summit did pull to within 7 points in the 4th quarter, but it was not to be.
Sprinzen was 5 for 5 from the free throw line to boost his free throw percentage to a remarkable 90% (27 of 30). Ryan Carey scored in double digits with 14.
