Tue 04/03 4:00PMDelbarton H Lost 8-6 Delbarton scored very early but JP Coviello tied the game off an assist from Ryan Clark. Delbarton quickly scored twice before Coviello scored a second goal, again assisted by Clark. A nice feed from Matt Starker allowed Rob Lecky to tie the game before the quarter ended. Starker and Clark each scored unassisted, sandwiched around a Delbarton goal and the half end with Summit ahead 5-4. Delbarton tied the game early in the 3rd quarter, but Starker again scored to give Summit a 1 goal advantage. Delbarton came back with a goal and the quarter ended 6-6. Unfortunately, Delbarton managed 2 unanswered goals in the 4th quarter and then went into a stall to run out the clock. No Game

Ryan Clark had a goal and 5 assists. Mike Sartorius saved 6 of the 8 shots allowed by the strong Summit defense. Won (OT) 4-3
Mon 04/09 4:15PMRidgewood A Won 9-8 (OT) Matt Starker won the overtime faceoff , Todd Ward eventuaslly fed Ryan Clark who scored the winning goal 104 seconds into the overtime. Summit had led 8-5 with only 4 minutes left, but Ridgewood scored 3 goals, two in the last 52 seconds. JP Coviello scored 4 times, Starker and Clark both had a goal and 2 assists. Mark Sartorius had 12 saves in goal. No Game
Wed 04/11 4:00PMSeton Hall A Won 13-1 Summit scored 10 goals in the first half and then coasted to victory. Keith Schroeder led the Summit scoring with 4 goals. Ryan Clark picked up 3 goals and 2 assists, while Matt Starker had 2 goals and 2 assists. Rob Lecky rounded out the scoring with 2 goals. Mike Sartorius had 5 saves.   Won 5-2

Wed 04/18 4:00PMMendham A Won 10-0 Summit scored 5 goals in each half led by Matt Starker who contributed 4 goals and 3 assisits. Mike Sartorius and the Summit defense, recorded its first shutout of the season. Rob Lecky scored twice and J.P. Coviello, Keith Schroeder, Brandon Shea & J.R Parker each scored once. Summit out shot Mendham 20-6.   Won 2-1
Sat 04/21 11:00AMColumbia H Won 16- 10 Summit remained unbeaten since its opening day loss to #1 Delbarton. Matt Starker and J.P. Coviello each scored a personal high six goals to lead Summit. The remaining four goals were scored by Keith Schroeder (2 goals), Ryan Clark (one goal) and Brandon Shea (one goal). Mike Sartorius came up with 15 saves.  Won 4-2

Sat 04/28 11:00AMWest Morris H Won 8-1 Summit was playing without the services of its leading scorer, Matt Starker. Starker injured his shoulder and may be out one to two weeks. Summit started slowly and allowed West Morris to score in the first minute of play. In fact, most of the 1st quarter was played in the Summit half. The quarter ended with West Morris up 1-0. Things slowly began to shift and 8 minutes into the second quarter Keith Schroeder took a feed from Ryan Clark and tied the score. Then with only 10 sec. left in the half Clark had an unassisted goal to put Summit ahead for good. Summit scored three times in each of the final two quarters. In the 3rd quarter Clark assisted Rob Lecky, and both Schroeder and Clark assisted J.P. Coviello as he scored twice. In the final twelve minutes Schroeder scored twice, one unassisted and the other off a pass from Clark. The last goal of the game came from Matt Miller with an assist from Schroeder. Schroeder and Clark each figured in 5 of Summit's 8 goals. either scoring or providing an assist. The defense, anchored by Rob Messner, Todd Ward, Ned Hillenbrand, Steve Nye and goalie Mark Sartorius, held West Morris scoreless after the first minute of the game.   Lost 5-2
Mon 04/30 4:00PMBridgewater A Lost 12-8 Bridgewater-Raritan jumped to an early 4-0 lead before Summit get the offense into gear. The offense really picked up second half with JP Coviello scoring 3 goals (1 assist), Keith Schroeder scoring 3 goals (1 assist), Ryan Clark 1 goal (12 assists) and Brandon Shea 1 goal. J.R. Parker also had 1 assist. Bridgewater was much more successful winning the face offs, which kept Summit on the defense too often. Lost 8-4

Sat 05/05 2:00PMWest Essex H Won 11-7 Ryan Clark scored 1 goal, but had an amazing 7 assists to help lead Summit to victory. JP Coviello (2 assists) and Rob Lecky each scored 4 goals  Keith Schroeder had a goal and an assist and Matt Miller scored a goal. Won 3-2
Wed 05/09 4:00PMRandolph A Won 8-4 Summit snapped Randolph's 6 game winning streak. Matt Satrker returned to the lineup after missing the last 4 game with a dislocated shoulder and picked up right where he left off. Starker scored 4 golas to lead the Summit scoring. Ryan Clark scored twice and had 2 assists. Keith Schroeder scored the other 2 goals. The victory clinched the Fitch Division title. Lost 8-3

Wed 05/16 4:00PMMountain Lakes H Won 8-7 in overtime Summit had lost 10 consecutive game to Mt. Lakes. Summit's victory not only snapped the streak, but probably cost Mt. Lakes their top seed in the State Tournament. Things looked dark for Summit as Mt. Lakes scored on its first 4 shots and took a 4-2 lead after less than 9 minutes of play. The defense settled down and Summit tied the game 6-6 in the 3rd quarter. With a minute left in the 3rd J.P. Coviello scored to give Summit a 7-6 advantage. Mid way in the 4th quarter Mt. lakes tied the score. The defense and Mike Sartorius put on a great effort to preserve the tie and send the game into overtime. 1:20 into the overtime Ryan Clark duped his defender and scored the winning goal. Lost 3-2

Won 13-2 J.P. Coviello led the Summit scoring with 5 goals and 4 assists. Matt Starker and Keith Schroeder each had 3 goals and 3 assists. Ryan Clark scored once and had 2 assists. Summit will play the winner of the Bridgewater-Raritan/Columbia game on or before Wednesday May 30th.

State - 2nd round

Won 12-5 Matt Starker got things started with an unassisted goal about 90seconds into the game. Keith Schroeder scored off an assist from Brandon Shea to make to 2-0. With 6 min. left in the quarter B-R made it 2-1 when a scramble in front of the goal resulted in the ball being kicked in for the score. Rob Lecky scored following a nfty pass from Ryan Clark and the score was 3-1 The 2nd quarter was a scoreless struggle until B-R scored with only 24 seconds left in the half. The 3-2 halftime score didn't reflect the fact that Summit had dominated the play in the half. Three quick goals (Starker unassisted, Todd Branchflower with a Clark assist and JP Coviello off a JR Parker assist) put Summit up 6-2. However, B-R scored twice within a span of 24 seconds to close the quarter with Summit up 6-4. The 4th quarter was all Summit with 3 goals by Schroeder, 1 by Shea, and 1 by Parker. Schroeder led Summit with 4 goals and Clark contributed 4 assists

State Quarter Finals
Won 6-3 Summit spotted Ramapo to a 2-1 lead, but then exploded late in the second quarter for four unanswered goals. Ryan Clark tied the game at 2-2 with only four minutes left in the first half. J. P. Coviello scored just about a minute later to give Summit the lead. Keith Schroeder , on an assist from Clark, hit the net with 2:03 left on the clock. The final goal of the half was scored by Brandon Shea with only 24 seconds to go, and Summit went to halftime with a 5-2 lead.Clark had a goal and two assists and Rob Lecky and Matt Miller each scored a goal for Summit which improved to 19-2 for the season. Ramapo ended the season with a very respectable 15-4 record.

The next round for Summit will take place on Tuesday at Bridgewater-Raritan (according to the NJSIAA website) against No. 2 Delbarton (20-2). Delbarton defeated West Morris 9-4 to earn there way into the semi final round. This will be a rematch of the very first game of the year, when Delbarton defeated Summit 8-6.

Moorestown and Mountain Lakes will appear in the other semifinal on Tuesday, also at Bridgewater-Raritan.

State Semi Finals
Won 4-2 Summit (20-2) and ranked No. 2 defeated No. 1 Delbarton (20-3) yesterday in the semifinal round of the state tournament at Basilone Field in Bridgewater. Patience was the key, as Summit took only 15 shots the entire game, but made them count in coming up with a 4-2 hard earned victory. The defense was outstanding and Mike Sartorius the senior goalie was solid all day coming up with 15 saves, 6 of them in the final quarter. Summit took a 2-1 lead into the halftime break, and then Junior defenseman Todd Ward scored the big goal of the day when he legged out a clear, wrapped the cage and scored unassisted with 5:56 left in the third quarter to run Summit's lead to 3-1! Delbarton made it a 3-2 game with 8:02 remaining in the game. Summit got back the two goal lead about a minute later on there only shot of the quarter. Matt Starker fed Keith Schroeder in front of the cage for the goal which ran the score to 4-2. Rob Lecky also came up with a big goal for Summit as he scored with only 34 seconds left in the first half! Starker had a goal and an assist for the day. Summit will play Moorestown for the state championship on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Rutgers.

State Finals
Lost 8-3 Summit took the early lead 90 seconds into the game when Ryan Clark fed Rob Lecky for the score. Mid-way through the quarter Moorestown tied the score, but Clark setup Keith Schoreder to put Summit back on top. The quarter ended with Summit leading 2-1. Moorestown answered with 2 goals in the first half of the second quarter to grab their first lead, 3-2. Two and a half minutes before the half ended JP Coviello scored off an assist from Lecky to send the game into a 3-3 halftime tie. All throughout the 1st half the play was very even, but things began to change in the 2nd half. Moorsetown began to wear down Summit and Summit started to make some uncharacteristic mistakes. The final 24 minutes were all Moorestown as they scored 5 unanswered goals.
