On tuesday the men opened up a season with some strong efforts by Dave Webster in the mile and half mile, Matt Auster in the 100, 200, and Long Jump, Although Summit lost both meets only by 4 points to West Essex the surprise of the meet was by the 4x400 team (Dwight Reid, Marvin Lewis, Dave Webster, Matt Auster) Summit ran a 3:43 a strong showing this early in the season. |

Summit defeated parisppany by 7. Once Again the meet came down to the 4x400 and Summit once again prevailed defeating Parisppany with a time of 3:43. Some other outstanding efforts were by Dave Webster mile (4:36) Matt Auster ( 19'1 long jump, and 11.4, 100) and Marvin Lewis 5'8 high jump.

While the Men (Matt Auster, Marvin Lewis, Marqis White & Dwight Reid) took 2nd in both the 4x100M & 4x200M Relays. Summit ( Matt Auster, Dwight Reid, Marvin Lewis, and Dave Webster) also finished 5th in the 4x400M Relay.. |

Men: It was an good day for Summit as the men took home several medals. 6th in the 4x100 (Steve Kohut, Justin Stymacks, Simon Kwak, Anthony Rea); 2nd in the 4x200 (Matt Auster, Marvin Lewis, Marquis White, Dwight Reid); 5th 4x400 (Dwight Reid, Marvin Lewis, Matt Auster, Dave Webster); 2nd Sprint Medlay Relay (Matt Auster, Marquis White, Dwight Reid, Dave Webster); 2nd Distance Medaly (Tim Dunne, Andrew Larson, Justin Stymacks, Dave Webster); Tie for1st, High jump (Dwight Reid & Marvin Lewis) and 4th, high jump (Dave Webster & Christian Butler)
Women: Summit women also did very well. 4X100 Relay - 2nd Place -52.81(Ashley Homles, Amanda Copperthite, Rashmi Chari, and Kim McDonald ); 4X200 Relay- 3rd Place 1:54 (Ashley Holmes, Amanda Copperthite, Rashmi Chari, and Kim McDonald); High Jump Relay - 3rd Place (Rashmi Chari-4'6" & Amanda Copperthite-4'10"); Long Jump Relay - 3rd Place (Amanda Copperthite-16 ft 2 in & Rashmi Chari -13 ft 11.5 in); Discus-3rd Tricia Fairweather; Shotput - 3rd - Ashley Holmes

Group 2 Sectional Meet |
Summit women came in second overall with Caroline Manneart placing 4th in the 800M (2:29.0), 1600M (5:30.3) and 3200M (12:29.5) and Amanda Copperthite placing 2nd in the long jump (16'1") , 2nd in the 100M (13.1) and 4th in the 400M (62.0). Ashley Holmes won both the shot put (35'1") and discus (107'8"). All three will compete this weekend at egg harbor at the group championship meet.
For the men, Dave Webster placed 2nd in the 1600M and 3rd in the pole vault, while Matt Auster placed 5th in the 200M. Both qualified as well for the group championships this weekend.
