Summit was forced to play without the services of Karen Jann and Lauren Ertz, their two leading scorers. Fortunately, Liz Sheridan and Sasha Orenzack stepped up and had their season best scoring games. Sheridan was the games high scorer with 14 points and Orenzack was close behind with 12 points.
Mid-way through the 2nd quarter it looked like Summit might blow Westfield away when they built a 22-9 lead. But Westfield turned things around and the half finished with Summit ahead by only 2 points, 26-24. Summit struggled in the 3rd quarter and entered the final quarter down by one point.
Orenzack scored the first FG of the 4th quarter to put Summit back up by 1 point, and they never trailed again. Alia Carey and Lian Price added FGs before Westfield scored again. Sheridan scored a FG and hit 2 free throws to put Summit safely ahead. Orenzack hauled down 10 rebounds to lead all players.
