This game got off on the wrong foot and was never able to recover. Gov. Livingston picked up 3 unearned first inning runs before there was an single out. They accomplished this with the assistance of 3 Summit errors. GL added 2 more runs in both the 3rd and 4th innings, with a final run in the 5th inning.
Summit's first run came in the 3rd inning. Steve Bariexca singled to start the inning and moved to 2nd base on a passed ball. Jeff Della Piazza drove in the run with a single. Summit's only other run resulted from a leadoff double in the 5th inning by Ben Torres. He was driven home by Della Piazza's triple.
