Summit came up against the top team in the conference (10-0) and came out on the short end. Paul Krupa pitched a good game, giving up only 5 hits, but the Summit bats were unable to produce any runs. The best opportunity for Summit came in the 1st inning. Matt Williams started things off with a double and Steve Bariexca followed that up with a single. With men at 1st and 3rd and no outs things were looking good. Unfortunately, it led to nothing. Morris Hills picked 2 runs in the 3rd and another in the 4th as Morris Hills bunched 4 of their 5 hits in those two innnings.
Summit had another opportunity in the 5th inning when Noah Landau led off with a single and Williams got on via an error. Again in the 6th inning Jeff Johnson drew a walk with one out and Mike Mormak moved him to 3rd base with a single. However, nothing came of either threat.
Krupa's record is 1-1 with a 2.67 ERA
