Jeff Johnson got his second start of the season and it couldn't have been under worse circumstances. A steady rain was falling and it was very difficult to get a grip on the ball. In fact, Weequahic scored their run in the opening inning via 3 walks and a ground out. After that first inning Johnson found a way to get the slippery ball in the strike zone and didn't give up any more walks until the top of the fifth. With one out, the next two batters were issued walks. At this point Mike Mormak came on in relief . Mormak walked the next batter to load the bases, but got the following batter to hit into a double play. Paul Krupa made a nice play to pick up the ground ball, step on third and throw to 1st for the third out. Nick Monaco led the Summit offense scoring twice and batting in 2 runs with a triple and a single. Johnson helped his own cause, going 2 for 2 with an RBI and 2 runs.

Johnson's record in now 2-1 with a ERA of 1.35
