. Summit ran off 40 plays and 10 First Downs in the first half. By contrast Mt. Olive had only 11 plays and picked up zero First Downs. Summit had First Downs on the Mt. Olive 6, 16 and 3 yard lines but could only score on the first of those opportunities. The only score of the game came on Summit's 2nd possession that started on Summit's 49 yard line. Five consecutive carries by Marquis White moved the ball to the Mt. Olive 20 yard line. A Keith Schroeder QB sneak provided a 1st down on the 18. Nick Monaco moved the ball to the 13 yard line. Two more carries by White made it 4th and one at the nine. From there Schroeder moved to a 1st down on the 6 yard line. Two more carries by Schroeder punched the ball in for what would be the only score of the game.

Summit's second opportunity started after recovering a Mt. Olive fumble on their 43 yard line. Runs by Nick Monaco, White, Brad Dolny and Schroeder gave Summit a 1st down at the Mt. Olive 16. An incomplete pass on 4th down ended the drive at the 11 yard line. Summit's final chance began after Matt Williams returned a Mt. Olive punt to the MO 47 yard line. A pass to JP Coviello picked up a 1st down at the 34 yard line as the clock was running down. Passes to Monaco and Dolny yielded another 1st down at the 25 yard line. On 1st down, Schroeder hit Coviello who bulled his way to the 3 yard line with about 20 seconds left in the half. Two incomplete passes and an interception ended the half.

The second half was completely different. Summit was stopped in its tracks and Mt. Olive began to gain a few yards. Yet Mt. Olive was unable to mount a serious threat through almost all of the 2nd half. With about 5 minutes left in the game Summit got the ball back on their 21 yard line hoping to run out the clock. Schroeder picked up a quick 1st down on an option keeper, but suffered a hard hit and had to leave the game. Rob Schroeder took over at QB and immediately ripped off another long run that was called back on a holding penalty. The attempt to run out the clock ended with a punt that gave Mt. Olive the ball on their 34 yard line.

At this point there was about 3 1//2 minutes remaining in the game. Three runs picked up a Mt. Olive 1st down at their 42. A quick pass down the middle moved the ball to Summit's 26 yard line. Three plays yielded no yards and on 4th down a pass was long, but Summit was called for roughing the passer. So instead of the game being essentially over Mt. Olive had a 1st down at 14 yard line. Again 3 plays resulted in a loss on 1 yard. On 4th down the Mt. Olive QB was about to be sacked and threw for the end zone in desperation. Four players went up for the ball and it fell incomplete but , inexplicably, Summit was called for interference. First down for Mt. Olive on the 7 yard line. A 1 yard run and a 3 yard pass made it 3rd and 3 for the tieing TD. At this point MO had used its last time out and there were 15 seconds left on the clock. A QB keeper was stopped on the 1 foot line and the clock was running. Mt. Olive managed to get off one more play but the team was so confused that some players ran into each other and the victory was preserved.
