West Essex received the kickoff at the start of the 2nd half and took 7 1/2 minutes off the clock as they rolled 62 yards in 12 plays to assume a 21-0 advantage. In the 4th quarter a fumble turnover gave West Essex the ball on Summit's 26 and they jumped on the opportunity. A pass and a run and the score was 27-0. Summit's only score came after Matt Williams returned a put to the West Essex 48. As Keith Schroeder's pass to Chris Dean covered 43 yards and another to JP Coviello picked up the final 5 yards to put Summit on the scoreboard with less than 30 second remaining in the game.
Summit was forced to rely almost totally on passing as West Essex completely shut down Summit's running game. West Essex was able to key on the passing game and kept Schroeder under heavy pressure all day. There were 4 sacks and numerous blocked passes.
