Summit was literally saved by the buzzer. With 4 seconds left, and a 3 point Summit lead, Dover's Moore inbounded the ball under their basket. He then raced to a position outside the 3 point arc, received a pass, squared up and fired. The buzzer went off and the ball swished through the net for an apparent tie. Wait, the referee waved off the score saying the buzzer went off before the ball left his hand. The victory was saved.

This was probably the worst game that Summit has played this season. To put things into perspective you should know that Dover had not won any of its ten games. What's more, Summit had romped to victory in their first meeting at Dover by the score of 62-31. Summit's play was characterized by sloppy ball handling, turnovers and missed opportunities. They were lucky to escape with a victory.

The 4th quarter began with the scored tied 31-31. Dwight Reid and Alex Sprinzen began the quarter with quick baskets to make it 35-31 and allow the Summit fans to think that maybe Summit would now be on a roll. But Dover picked up a free throw and a FG to make it 35-34. Dwight Reid scored a lay up on a great assist from Dan Dugan to make it a 3 point game. Again Dover fought back with two baskets and a 38-37 lead. With 2 minutes left Matt Audibert drained a huge 3-pointer to restore a 2 point Summit advantage. On the next possession Greg Mortenson, who isn't looked to for a lot of scoring, got the ball in the paint and scored on a fine shot. That may have been the most important points he made all season. Dover scored and Dwight Reid restored the 4 point lead. After a Dover free throw, Summit got the ball back with 33 seconds to go. All Summit needed to do was to hang onto the ball until fouled. However a bad pass resulted in another turnover and set up the dramatic finish.
