Summit struggled through another game against a team they had handled with ease in their first meeting. Unfortunately, this time Summit came out on the losing end. Summit started well enough and held a 15-11 lead with 1 second to go in the 1st quarter. But a buzzer beating 3 pointer made it 15-14. The 2nd quarter turned into something of a disaster as the Hilltoppers only managed 1 field goal and a pair of free throws and fell behind by 7 points.
Summit spent the rest of the game trying to play catch up and managed to close the gap to 3 points mid way through the 4th quarter. However, a parade of foul shots by Morris Hills and numerous missed shots by Summit settled things.
This may have been Summits worst shooting night. They were a weak 5 of 15 shots (33%) in the 1st half and an even worse 9 of 29 (31%) in the second. Morris Hills only scored 7 points from the field in the 2nd half , but drained 19 of 25 free throws.
