Summit showed that they could give Weequahic all they could handle. Summit jumped to a 9-0 lead and would have ended the first quarter with a 16-10 lead except for the fact that the clock operator failed to start the clock for about 6 seconds, allowing Weequahic a last second basket that never should have happened. Dan Dugan scored nine of his game high 24 points in the 1st stanza and Alex Sprinzen added 5 more. Summit had trouble getting the shots to drop in the 2nd quarter, in addition they sank only 2 of 7 free throws. That allowed Weequahic to even the score at 25-25 at the half. Dwayne Reid had the hot hand in the 3rd quarter as drained three 3-pointers and a field goal for 11 points.
The final qiuarter started well as Dugan score 5 points and Reid a 3-pointer as Summit moved to a 54-51 lead. However, Weequahic scored the next 8 points before baskets by Dugan and Sprinzen pulled Summit back to within one point (58-59). Weequahic ran off the next 9 points and put the game out of reach.
Dugan (with his 24 points), Reid with 21 and Sprinzen with 12 provided most of Summit's firepower. Unfortunately, Summit missed a lot of opportunities, shooting only 38% from the field and 50% from the foul strip.
