Tue 04/02 4PMDelbarton A Lost 4-2 Delbarton got off to a 2-0 lead in the first quarter and went into a slowdown offense turning the contest into a defensive battle. JR Parker scored in the second period to bring the halftime score to 2-1. After Delbarton stretched the lead to 3-1 in the third, Summit hit the post twice but could not find the back of the net. In the final period Delbarton made the score 4-1 before Matt Starker hit JP Coviello for the Hilltopper's second goal. Rob Schroeder played a strong game in the net for Summit. Lost 12-0 Defense went well in the first quarter allowing only 2 goals, but Summit gave up 8 goals in the 2nd. The defense improved in the final 2 quarters as only 2 goals were given up.
Thu 04/04 4PMWestfield A Won 12-3 The Hilltoppers bounced back from their opening day loss by dominating their long time rival. Summit lead 12-1 before giving up two fourth quarter goals. Keith Schroeder (5 goals 1 assist), JP Coviello (3 goals 4 assists) and Matt Starker (2 goals 2 assists) lead the offense while Rob Schroeder made 11 saves in net.  Lost  3-0
Mon 04/08 4PMRidgewood H Won 7-6 (OT) Summit jumped out to a quick two goal lead but fell behind 4-3 at halftime and 6-3 at the end of three quarters. The Hilltoppers then staged a comeback in the final quarter. Matt Starker (two goals,two assists) hit Keith Schroeder (three goals, two assists) for two goals and then Schroeder fed Starker for the tying goal with less than three minutes left in the game, setting up the overtime. In overtime a Summit turnover lead to a breakaway for Ridgewood. Rob Schroeder (12 saves) charged out to the net to break up the scoring attempt but drew a penalty. Ben Sneikus came off the bench to make two huge saves during the man down and keep Summit in the game. After killing the penalty Summit brought the ball into the offensive end and Keith Schroeder drove to the net and buried the gamewinner with 54.8 seconds left in the overtime period. Rob Lecky and JP Coviello also scored for Summit.  Lost
Wed 04/10 4PMSeton Hall H Won10-6 Starting off slowly the Hilltoppers trailed 2-1 after one period. Summit then dominated the next 30 minutes to go ahead 10-3 before giving up three goals late in the fourth quarter. The offense was lead by Matt Starker (3 goals, 2 assists), JP Coviello (2 goals, 1 assist) and JR Parker (2 goals). Keith Schroeder and Rob Lecky added goals and long stick defensemen Ned Hillenbrand (goal) and Todd Ward (assist) also added points. Rob Schroeder stopped 11 shots in net.   Lost
Sat 04/13 11AMLivingston H Won13-4 Summit used a balanced attack to defeat the Lancers. Keith Schroeder (3 goals, 1 assist) scored his 100th career goal to lead the offense. Matt Starker (3 goals, 4 assists), JP Coviello (2 goals, 2 assists) and Rob Lecky (2 goals) also had big games for the Hilltoppers. JR Parker, Todd Branchflower and John Wilson (first career goal) all chipped in with goals while Rob Schroeder made 5 saves in net.  Won 4-1 Summit JV Men’s Lax finally got a win with Anson Fraser scoring the first goal for JV. Both Fraser and Matt Clark scored twice for Summit..
Mon 04/15 4PMManasquan A Won 13-4 Summit utilized their entire roster and Ian Rush, Matt Donnelly, Eric Lupton and Anson Fraser all notched their first career goal. Keith Schroeder (3 goals, 3 assists) and Matt Starker (2 goals, 4 assists) lead the way offensively with Rob Lecky (2 goals) JP Coviello (one goal) and Max Tcheyan (one goal) also chipping in. Rob Schroeder made 8 saves before being replaced by Pete Britt who made 2 saves in his varsity debut.  No Game 
Wed 04/17 4PMMendham H Won 7-2 Summit dominated the offensive play and got another balanced scoring effort to gain the victory. Keith Schroeder (3goals, 1 assist), Rob Lecky (2 goals, 1 assist), Matt Starker (1goal, 1 assist) and JP Coviello (1 goal, 1 assist) accounted for the offense while Rob Schroeder stopped 7 shots in net.  Lost 6-2 The only goals scored by Anson Fraser (his third of the season). The other goal was scored by Brett Aldrich (his first JV goal of the season). 
Sat 04/20 11AMColumbia A Won 11-5 Summit dominated the first half leading 6-0 at the intermission. After a rain delay the Hilltoppers played the opposition even to seal the win. Matt Starker lead the offensive attack with 6 goals and one assist. JP Coviello (2 goals, one assist), JR Parker (2 goals) and Keith Schroeder (one goal,one assist) also contributed. Robbie Schroeder made 10 saves in net.  Lost 7-2 with two goals scored by Matt Clark. Clark now has 4 goals on the season and is the leading scorer for the Junior Varsity. 
Wed 04/234PMMorristown H Won12-4 Summit's defense lead by Rob Schroeder in goal and long poles Todd Ward, Ned Hillenbrand, Steve Nye and Dan Dugan turned in another stellar performance as Summit improved to 8-1. The offense was lead by Keith Schroeder (5 goals, 2 assists) and Matt Starker (5 goals and 2 assists). Starker's fifth goal gave him 100 for his career. JR Parker had 2 goals and JP Coviello had 4 assists to round out the scoring for the Hilltoppers.  Won 5-2 JV won their second game. Anson Fraser got his 4th goal of the season to place in second on the team in scoring. Matt Clark also scored another two goals and therefore held his first place on the team in scoring with 6 goals. Alex Ring also scored to notch his first goal of the season.
Sat 04/27 11AMWest Morris A Won 9-3 With the score tied 3-3 in the second period Summit turned it up a notch and gained the victory. Lead by a strong defensive effort (Todd Ward, Steve Nye, Dan Dugan and Ned Hillenbrand) the Hilltoppers shutout West Morris the rest of the game. The offense, lead by Keith Schroeder (4 goals) , Matt Starker (1 goal, 4 assists) and JR Parker (2 goals), scored 6 unanswered goals. JP Coviello and Rob Lecky also tallied for Summit while Robbie Schroeder made 12 saves in net.  Lost 8-0

 

Mon 04/29 4PMBridgewater H Won12-5 Trailing at halftime 5-4 the Summit defense stepped it up a notch and shutout the Panthers for the entire second half as the offense scored 8 unanswered goals.The offense was lead by Keith Schroeder (4 goals, 2 assists), Matt Starker (4 goals, 1 assist)and JP Coviello (2 goals, 2 assists) with Rob Lecky and JR Parker adding goals and Max Tcheyan contributing a huge assist on the tying goal early in the third quarter. Robbie Schroeder made 7 saves in net.Summit now has won 10 straight games and stands at 10-1 with the number 1 ranking in the state.  Lost 8-2 Although the Summit JVs lost to Raritan they still played probably there best this season. Alex Ring came in with a goal as he ran in front of the cage and scored to set up for his second goal of the season. Glauco Grillo scored later in the 4th period with his first JV goal as he came up on the right side of the cage took a shot that richicheted of both posts and went in.  
Wed 05/01 4PMRoxbury A Won12-0 Robbie Schroeder made 4 saves on his way to his first shutout of the year as Summit easily rolled over Roxbury. The offensive attack was well balanced with eight players scoring. Matt Starker (2 goals, 3 assists), Keith Schroeder (3 goals) and JP Coviello (2 goals, 2 assists) got Summit started and then five players (JR Parker, Max Tcheyan, John Wilson, Eric Lupton and Ned Hillenbrand) all scored single goals to round out the scoring.  Won 3-2 It was 3-2 with 18 seconds left in the 4th period with Roxbury in our zone but the Defense stepped it up a notch and Stu Williams cleared to finish the game. The goals scorers were Leo Martinez w ,his first goal of the season. Erick Munoz scored his first two goals in the season to tie for second in top scorers on the team. 
Sat 05/04 2PMWest Essex A Won 13-4 Matt Starker (3 goals, 5 assists) scored his 200th career point as Summit clinched the Fitch Division Championship for the 5th year in a row. Keith Schroeder added three goals and JP Coviello and Eric Lupton each hit the net twice. JR Parker, Todd Branchflower and Anson Frazier also scored and Max Tcheyan had two assists. Robbie Schroeder made 10 saves in the net for Summit which now stretches its winning streak to 12 games.  Lost 8-3. Kyle Langworthy scored his first goal of the season.of the season The 2nd goal was by scored by Anson Fraser. Summit's third goal was by Eric Munoz, his 3rd of the season. 
Tue 05/07 4PMCBA H Won 11-2 Rob Lecky (3 goals, 1 assist) lead the offense and the defense behind Rob Schroeder (11 saves) played well and Summit won going away. Matt Starker (1goal, 3 assists) became the alltime career scoring leader (209 points) passing Ned Britt. The remainder of the offense was spread out evenly as Keith Schroeder (2 goals, 1 assist), Max Tcheyan (2 goals), JR Parker (1 goal, 1 assist), Anson Frazier (1 goal, 1 assist) and Ian Rush (1 goal) all chipped in.  Lost 7-3. Brett Aldrich scored as he got the ball in front of the goal from the midline and took a shot with no defensive covering. Dan Densen scored twice. His second goal had an assist from Matt Clark who came up on the left side of the cage and dished it off to Densen who was in front of the cage. 
Thur 05/09 4PMRandolph H Won16-6 Rob Lecky (6 goals, 1 assist) led the offensive charge as Summit took an early lead and coasted to victory. Matt Starker (1 goal, 5 assists) recorded his 100th career assist. Keith Schroeder (3 goals, 1 assist) and JR Parker (3 goals, 3 assists) were also key in the win. Mike Tamarro, Eric Lupton and Anson Frazier all scored single goals while Nick Bitting recorded his first varsity point with an assist. Rob Schroeder made 10 saves in net.  Lost 9-1 with Dan Densen scoring the only goal for his third goal of the season. 
Tues 05/14 4PM Millburn H Won 13-1 Lost 6-2 Matt Clark scored the first goal of the game,his 7th of the season. Leo Martinez picked up his second goal of the season.
Fri 05/244PMSt. Joseph's (Metuchen)Won 15-2 JP Coviello (3 goals, 2 assists) reached the 200 career point total as Summit displayed a balanced attack and a stifling defense to set up a rematch from last year's state final against Moorestown next Wednesday. Keith Schroeder (5 goals, 2 assists), Matt Starker (3 goals, 1 assist), JR Parker (2 goals) and Mike Tammaro (2 goals) lead the way offensively while Rob Schroeder made 10 saves behind the strong defense of long sticks Ned Hillenbrand, Todd Ward, Dan Dugan, Steve Nye, Chris Conlan and short stick middies Jonas Carr and Ian Rush.  
Wed 05 29 4PM Moorestown Won 7-4 The third time proved to be the charm for Summit. Having lost to Moorestown in the state tournament in both 2000 and 2001 the Hilltoppers eliminated their rival today and advanced to the quarterfinal round on Saturday with a hard fought 7-4 win. The defense once again played a superb game holding their opponent to 1 goal through the first three periods as Summit held a 5-1 lead. Moorestown closed the gap to 6-4 in the final quarter but the defense shut them down. Keith Schroeder (3 goals, one assist) and Matt Starker (2 goals, one assist) lead the offense while JP Coviello and JR Parker also scored. Robbie Schroeder made 8 saves in net.
Sat 6/1 2PM Chatham
State Quarter Finals
Won10-7 Robbie Schroeder (14 saves) was strong in net to lead the Hilltoppers to victory. Summit jumped out to a 6-1 lead only to have Chatham battle back and only trail 6-5 at halftime. After scores of 7-6 and 8-7 Summit sealed the victory behind goals by Keith Schroeder (4 goals) and Matt Starker (3 goals) in the fourth quarter. J. P Coviello (1 goal, 2 assists), JR Parker (1 goal, 1 assist) and Max Tcheyan (1 goal) also contributed to the offensive effort. Summit advances to the State Semifinal Round and will play the winner of the Ridgewood-Johnson game on Tuesday at Bridgewater High School.
Tues 6/4 4PM Ridgewood Ridgewood 10 Summit 6 Summit put up a valiant effort but fell to a talented Ridgewood team in the state semifinal game. Summit grabbed an early 4-0 lead but Ridgewood fought back to tie it at halftime. In the third period Summit scored to lead 5-4 but Ridgewood went on a run to take a 9-5 lead before Summit closed to 9-6 in the closing minutes. Ridgewood scored their final goal into an empty net at the buzzer. Summit's offense was lead for a final time by the senior trio of Matt Starker (2 goals, 1 assist), Keith Schroeder (2 goals) and JP Coviello (2 goals). Robbie Schroeder made 8 saves in net. The Hilltoppers finish the season with an 18-2 record and the seniors end their career with a four year mark of 71-12.
