Summit took a 23-21 lead into the 4th quarter. The lead grew to 27-23 early in the final quarter, but Dover rallied with an 8-0 run to take a 31-27 lead. Summit suffered a blow when Sasha Orenzack fouled out with 3:36 left in the game. Things got even worse when Jamie Greenman picked up her 5th foul at the 2 minute mark. Orenzack led the Summit offense with 11 points
The game was really decided at the foul line as Dover sank 15 of 23 attempts (8 in the 4th quarter), while Summit managed only 7 of their 19 tries.
This edition of Summit Women's basketball opened the season without the services of three players who had been expected to be major contributors this year. Liz Sheridan, Shante Cofield and Karen Jann decided to skip basketball this year for other pursuits.
