Morris Hills took advantage of 2 big innings to hand Summit a big defeat. Things got off to a good start for Summit in the 1st Inning. Kevin McNeil drew a leadoff walk, Steve Bariexca singled and Jeff Johnson hit a sacrifice fly to score a run. Jeff Della Piazza doubled to score Bariexca and things were looking good. It all came to grief in the bottom of the of the 1st. A MH lead off single was followed by 2 outs. Then the bottom dropped out. A single put runners on 1st and 3rd. On the first pitch the runner on 1st broke for 2nd. The throw to 2nd was close but the runner was safe and the runner on 3rd took advantage of the throw to second and scored. A walk was followed by a 3 run home run over the right field fence. MH added one more run in the 3rd and 6 more in the 4th. Morris Hills pitcher Eric Colon really had Summit's number from then on, allowing only 3 more singles over the final 6 innings

Summit scored one more time, in the 4th when Brad Dolny was hit by the pitcher and Zack Barber singled. Dolny managed to score on a throwing error by the center fielder. Eric Smith pitched the 6th inning in relief. He gave up a couple of hits, but struck out the side

Summit plays Union Catholic on Saturday in the UCT. The game has been set back to 3PM in hopes that the rain will have ended. The rain date is Monday.
