This game was not a thing of beauty but a victory is still sweet. What's more, the sun was shinning for the first time this season albeit the temperature was still in the low 40s. Summit manufactured runs in each of the first two innings, but New Providence scored 3 times in the 3rd inning to take a 3-2 lead. It remained that way through the 5th inning. New Providence's Umestu seemed to have the game under complete control as he had allowed only 2 "Texas League" singles through 5 innings. However, a defensive meltdown by NP allowed Summit to score 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning.

Paul Krupa threw a nice 5 hitter but was repeatedly in trouble because of defensive breakdowns. After playing excellent defensive ball in the first two games Summit had 5 errors. Fortunately, NP also booted the ball 5 times, and 3 of their's were concentrated in the 6th inning.

Summit's run in the1st inning came when Kevin McNeil drew a leadoff walk, Steve Bariexca hit a Texas league single and McNeil scored on Jeff Johnson's ground ball. In the 2nd inning Summit got an unearned run when Evan Cheng and Noah Landau got on via errors and scored on McNeil's ground ball. The big 6th inning began with Brad Dolny's single. Cheng and Landau again got on as the result of NP errors. With the bases loaded McNeil singled to tie the game and Bariexca tripled to drive in 3 more runs. Another error put Johnson on base and allowed Bariexca to score the inning's 5th run.
