Johnson took a lesson from Parsippany Hills' playbook and expanded on it. They blitzed on almost every play and kept Summit off balance. It was relentless and Summit never found a solution to the problem. Meanwhile Johnson scored twice more to win 22-7.
Summit's TD drive came on their 2nd possession. The drive began on Summit's 15 and took 14 plays. Most of the yardage resulted from the running of Jeff Della Piazza and Tony Johnson. A key gain came via a 16 yard pass to Della Piazza on the 3rd play of the series. The final 9 yards were covered by two runs by Della Piazza after Jonhson had run the ball from the 20 to a 1st down on the 9 yard line. Will Gruetzmacher kicked his 12th consecutive PAT to make it 7-0. Unfortunately that was the last time Summit had a scoring opportunity. In fact, Summit never got more than 11 yards beyond midfield for the rest of the game.
