Summit took advantage of a pair of 1st quarter Parsippany fumbles to forge an early 14-0 lead. The first fumble occurred on Parsippany's first play from scrimmage and gave Summit the ball on the Parsippany 25 yard line. Four plays later Summit scored. Three runs by Jeff Della Piazza picked up 15 yards, including the final 5 yards, while Tony Johnson covered the other 12 yards. Evan Cheng kicked the first of his 5 perfect point after kicks. Just before the end of the quarter Parsippany again turned the ball over on their 24 yard line. This time it took only 3 plays to score. Two runs by Della Piazza made it 3rd and 3 at the 17 yard line. Robbie Schroeder ran a QB sneak to get the 1st down and went all the way for a TD. Summit made it 21-0 after taking a Parsippany punt at mid-field. The score came when Schroeder hit Dwayne Reid coming across the middle and Reid raced through the Parsippany secondary for a 47 yard TD.

Parsippany showed that they weren't about to give up on their next possession. They took the kickoff and drove 65 yards in 6 plays, aided by a 15 yard "unsportsmen like conduct" penalty on Summit. This drive sent a little chill through the Summit fans. However, on the following kick off Dwight Reid caught the ball on Summit's 10 yard line and went 90 yards for the score. The 1st half ended with Summit on top 28-7.

Summit started the 2nd half by kicking off and Parsippany promptly rolled to the Summit 29 in 11 plays. A holding penalty moved the ball back to the 39 where the drive stalled and Summit took over on their 38 yard line. Summit then launched its longest sustained drive of the game. Six different runners carried the ball in this 12 play drive. A key pass to Cheng kept the drive alive when Summit faced 3rd and 6 on Parsippany's 42 yard line. Della Piazza covered the final 7 yards for the TD. Parsippany scored their other TD on a 60 yard drive after Summit began taking their starters off the field.

Cheng has come on strong as a place kicker. In addition to his 5 PATs his first two kick offs were gems. Both went into the end zone on the fly for touchbacks. The first kick was with the wind, but the second one was into the wind. Summit hasn't seen that kind of kicking in a very long time.
