Summit was eliminated by 2nd seeded Union in the UCT quarterfinals. Union was able to dominate their offensive backboard and had a large number of put-back points. This offensive rebounding really made the difference in the game. A big scoring spurt by Union in the second quarter put Summit in a 14 point halftime hole. However, Summit battled Union even throughout the 2nd half. We managed to close the gap to 8 points, but couldn't get any closer.
Anthony Rea was Summit's high scorer with 24 points. Mike Mahoney and Maurice Torres scored in double digits with 15 and 10 points respectively.
