Summit lost its third game of the season to drop to 4-3 overall and 2-3 in the conference. In each of our losses Summit had a reasonable lead at the half but succumbed to turnovers and missed shots in the second half. Certainly that was true at West Essex.. Early in the 4th quarter Summit briefly regained the lead at 37-36, but then the dam broke. West Essex out scored the Hilltoppers 27- 13 over the final 6 minutes of play. In the 4th quarter alone West Essex scored an amazing 31 points, considering that in the first 3 quarters they had managed only 32 points. Twenty one of those 4th quarter points came at the foul line. West Essex's two guards Allam and Cross had an awesome run sinking 20 of 25 free throw attempts in the final quarter. Alex Sprinzen (13 pts), Tony Johnson (12 pts) & Dwayne Reid (11pts) each scored in double digits. Sprizen led the rebounding with 9.
West Essex's Mike Cross led all scorers with 29 points
