Summit was looking to avenge their earlier loss to West Essex. The first half was a seesaw struggle that ended even at 27-27. Alex Sprinzen and Tony Johnson led the 1st half offense with 8 points each. Dwight Reid scored 5 points in the 1st quarter before he picked up 2 fouls and had to spend most of the rest of the half on the bench.

Summit turned up the heat in the 2nd half and forced turnovers that led to transition points. By the end of the quarter Summit held a 13 point lead. The trend continued in the 4th quarter and Summit was able to empty the bench in the 4th quarter. The 2nd half charge was led by Dwayne Reid with16 2nd half points and Wellington Smith with 11 of his 13 total points.

Dwayne Reid led the Summit offense with 17 points. Summit had three others in double figures; Johnson (13), Smith (13) and Sprinzen (12).

Because of the UCT game on Wednesday there is a strong possibility that Tuesday's Weequahic game may have to be postponed. Be sure to check the phone hot line on Tuesday.

As he did in the first meeting, Mike Cross led West Essex with 21 points.
