. The Summit Lady Hilltoppers came out with all their might on Thursday nite starting all three Seniors for their final game in a Summit uniform. This game started out and ended with lots of enthusiasm on both sides of the floor. The rowdy Dover crowd ratcheted up the Dover defensive pressure and forced Summit to work hard early for every point. Summit was working with three recently injured athletes, but that didn't keep them from keeping this game within reach. Despite many opportunities to score, Summit could only muster 9 points in the first half, trailing by 8 at the break. They came out strong in the third quarter putting up 6 and holding Dover to a mere 3 points cutting the lead to five entering the fourth quarter. Here's when the excitement began. Summit's bench did a tremendous job running the floor and creating opportunities that eventually brought them to within 1 point by midway through the fourth. The starters then reentered the game and began a see saw battle that would take this game to the wire. With just over a minute to play, Summit Senior Sasha Orenczak hit 1 of 2 charity shots to put her team up one. Dover came back down the floor and drew the foul giving them the opportunity to lead. They were only able to convert one of the free throws tying the game at 26. Sasha put her team up once again only to have them tie it again. The game now knotted at 27 apiece with under 15 seconds to go. In the excitement, Dover's point guard played too tight fouling Junior Rachel Tabak on the press. Rachel stepped to the line and sank both shots giving Summit the two point lead. In the waning moments of the game, Summit fouled one of Dover's players down on the block to force her to tie the game on the line. She missed both shots, but Dover gained possession of the rebound. On another shot attempt, Rachel Tabak was called for a boxing out foul and once again, Dover missed both shots. Summit inbounded and went on to win the game. Junior Julia Turner converted two key jumpers and two free throws to help Summit get back in this game early in the fourth quarter. Seniors Sasha Orenczak and Alia Carey contributed 8 and 6 points respectively.

Summit's JV squad played their best game all season tonite. They started off slow then quickly picked up the pace and held that steady for the following three quarters. The game highlights include several great passes for easy buckets in the paint. It's apparent that the team chemistry had developed as they seemed to know exactly where to put the ball. Dover was simply overwhelmed by the quick Summit team who recorded 13 steals and 12 assists in this game. Every player put points on the scoreboard led by Allison Cahott's 13, Jess Novo and Caitlin Lackaye's 10, as well as Angela Marchell and Jaki Sanchez's 8. Lackaye also pulled in 7 rebounds and 5 steals. The JV Squad finishes the season 8-12 overall
