Summit was outmatched by Hanover Park today especially without Senior Ashley Holmes or Junior Rachel Tabak who were both injured in Fridays matchup against Roselle Park. Hanover Park used a swarming defense to pressure Summit early in the game and jump out to a 16-2 lead. Summit settled in though and was able to put up 10 points in the second quarter. They remained relatively well matched for the remainder of the game, but were never able to truly settle into a consistent offensive flow. Summit welcomes back another Senior Alia Carey who really helped them become more composed offensively and added a defensive spark off the bench today. The final Senior Sasha Orenzack really tried to put this team on her back today and did a tremendous job of keeping the team together. She led all scorers with 13 points.
Summit will host Weequahic on Monday at 4pm with JV to follow at 5:30.
