Summit came out on fire taking a 22-8 first quarter lead. The second and third quarter hurt them though as they could only muster 8 total points and entered the fourth trailing by 6. Both teams battled defensively in the fourth with Summit clawing back to within 3 points. With the clock winding down, Summit called a timeout to set up a tying shot. With 6 seconds on the clock, a three was needed to send the game into overtime. The ball was inbounded to Ashley Holmes on the play, however, she was unable to find Rachel Tabek for the final shot. So, Ashley turned to the basket and got rim as she attempted the final three for the tie. Although Summit could not hit that final shot, they lost this game on the boards. This is the second close loss to Mt. Olive this season for the Lady Hilltoppers. Summit was led by Sasha Orenczak with 15, Rachel Tabek with 10 and Ashley Holmes with 6. They travel to Mendham on Thursday.
