The Lady Hilltoppers came out fired up against 20th ranked, and unbeaten, Parsippany Hills with several goals in mind. One, to score more than the stingy 21.8 point average that Par Hills has established this season. Two, to become the second team ever to score more than 30 points in the game and third, to feature a double digit scorer allowed only once before by this state ranked team. And reach their goals they did, even with the loss of starter Tomiko Cabell to a wrist injury and with starting center Ashley Holmes fighting a stomach virus. Rachel Tabek hit 4 three's, 1 field goal and 3-4 from the line to lead all scorer's with a season high 17 points. Ashley Holmes played a tough defensive game and layed in 7 for the Lady Hilltoppers while Julia Turner contributed 4. Summit went into halftime with a 23 point deficit, but came out in the third quarter fired up to reach those goals, outscoring Par Hills 25-19 in the second half to do just that. Tabek is averaging 40% from three point land this season. They will face Dover at home on Tuesday, January 28th. |
