Summit survived a 4th quarter letdown jinx to pick up its 1st vistory of the year. On three prvious occasions Summit took a good leads into to 4th quarter only to stall and lose the game. Summit had dominated the play through the first 3 quarters and held a 40-32 lead as Tomiko Cabell and Ashley Holmes led the scoring.

The 4th quarter jinx seemed to hang in the air like a dark cloud as Weequahic went on a 19-6 run to take the a 51-46 lead with about 1 1/2 minutes left to play. A Summit field goal made it 51-48. Rachel Tabek hit to make it 51-50 and Jaki Sanchez hit a rainbow shot to give Summit a 52-51 lead. Sanchez (1) and Holmes (2) then hit 3 clutch free throws to secure the victory.

Tomiko Cabell led the Summit scoring with 17 points, a personal career high.

The Summit Girls JV basketball team won their third of four games in a week. A solid team effort in which each player contributed to the final score. Overall, the team shot 66% from the foul line hitting 8-12 from the charity stripe. More impressive was the 6-6 foul line shooting by Caitlin Lackaye with 4 of them coming in the fourth quarter in addition to her 3 fieldgoals earning her high scorer with 12 points. Geremay Tan also laid in 11 for the Hilltoppers.
