Hit batters: McNeil(1) |
The good news was that Kevin McNeil was healthy enough to return to action at Shortstop. The bad news was that eight days had transpired since Summit had played a baseball game, and the rust was evident. Summit managed 8 errors in the 5 innings that were played before the game was stopped via the 10 run rule.
Summit's only run came in the 4th inning. NcNeil started things off by getting on base on an error. Singles by Kyle Dobiszewski and Jeff Della Piazza drove in McNeil. Matt Zackoff singled after one out and the bases were loaded. Brad Dolny hit a sharp shot that looked headed to score two runs and get Summit back in the game. Unfortunately, the shortstop made a great catch and threw to 2nd for a double play.
