Summit dropped its 3rd game in a row and fell to .500. It was a beautiful day for baseball but Hanover Park beat Summit in all aspects of the game. They played errorless ball and accumulated 12 hits while holding Summit to five. Hanover Park took a 4-0 lead in the 1st inning with a combination of 3 hits, a walk and a Summit error. Summit looked like they were going to make a game of it in the bottom of the 1st inning. With one out, Eric Smith, Jeff Johnson and Jeff Della Piazza provided consecutive singles to score 1 run and put runners at 2nd and 3rd. Unfortunately, the next two batters went down swinging to squelch the rally.

In the bottom of the 3rd Summit mounted its last real threat. Kevin McNeil led off with a single and stole 2nd. After one out, Johnson hammered his second single to drive in McNeil. With Della Piazza at the plate, Johnson stole 2nd to get into scoring position. Della Piazza rapped a sure single to left, but the Hanover Park left fielder made a shoe string catch and threw to 2nd to put out Johnson, who was racing home to score.

Summit picked up one more run in the 7th inning. Zach Barber and Alex Fischer were walked and moved ahead one base by a balk. A McNeil ground out drove in Barber.
