Hit batters: McNeil(1),Fields(1)
Summit had the misfortune of having to face Morris Hills' ace pitcher, Dan McDonald. The radar guns behind the backstop were registering numbers like 92 miles/hour. If he is on his game there is not a lot a batter can do, and he was on his game today. McDonald pitched 6 innings and 13 of the 18 outs were strikeouts. The only chink in his armour was that he walked one batter and hit two others. Summit managed only 3 singles. Summit took maximum advantage of their three hits and squeezed out 2 runs. To stay in the game required that starter Jeff Johnson have an absolutely superb day on the mound. Unfortunately, Johnson experienced some control problems and walked 9 batters in the course of the 4 innings he pitched. In Johnson's defense, he was saddled with an home plate umpire whose strike zone seemed to change from batter to batter.

Summit manufactured a run in the top of the first when Kevin McNeil was hit by the pitcher and Eric Smith advanced him to 2nd. A single by Johnson put him on 3rd base and he scored on a passed ball. Summit's other run came in 4th inning. Jeff Della Piazza singled and went to second on a passed ball. Darren Apostolic drove in Della Piazza with a single.

Note: The Weequahic game scheduled for Friday 4/16 has been moved to Tuesday 4/20. It will part of a weequahic double header at Memorial Field. The Millburn game on Saturday is now scheduled for 1PM
