It was cold wind swept day at Mt Olive and Summit's batters were never ever able to solve Mt. Olive's pitcher. He was able to get through the first 4 innings without a giving up a hit and faced the minimum 12 Summit batters. Over those same 4 innings Mt. Olive built a 5-0 lead.

Summit picked up its first hit in the 5th inning when Brad Dolny beat out an infield single, but he wound up stranded at 3rd. Jeff Johnson had a 2 out single in the 6th inning but was also stranded. Summit's final inning produced the only real excitement of the game for the Summit fans.

Dolny opened up with a double. After one out, Kyle Dobiszewski was hit by the pitcher. Pinch Hitter, Alex Fischer was walked to load the bases. One run scored on a ground out by Matt Fields. Kevin McNeil came through with a clutch single to drive in Dobiszewski and bring the tieing run to the plate. Eric Snith hit a hard shot but the shortstop made a fine play and threw him out at 1st base by less than 1/2 a step.

Dobiszewski was the starting pitcher and pitched the first two inning. He was replaced by Johnson so as to preserve Dobiszewski's ability to pitch against New Providence in Saturday's Union County Tournament game
