Parsippany built a 5-0 lead through the top of the 4th inning before Summit's bats finally awakened. Summit scored once in the 4th, twice in the 5th and 3 times in the 6th to forge a 6-6 tie. Unfortunately, Parsippany came back with 2 runs in the top of the 7th to win Summit's final game of the season. With the loss Summit finished the season 8-12-1. This was our first losing season since 1999 when the team went 8-15.

Summit out hit Parsippany 9-8 and had one less error, but 4 of Parsippany's runs were scored by runners put on base either by walks or by being hit by the pitcher while 2 of Summit's runs resulted from runners on base via error, and that was pretty much the difference.

Summit's run in the 4th inning came when Brad Dolny got on via an error and advanced to 3rd on Kyle Dobiszewski's single, Dolny scored on a subsequent wild pitch. Two more runs came in the 5th. Eric Smith and Jeff Johnson each singled and moved to 2nd and 3rd on Jeff Della Piazza's sacrifice bunt. Dolny's single and a ground ball by Dareen Apostolic drove them in. A 3 run uprising in the 6th got started when Zack Barber was safe on a error by the shortstop. After an out, Kevin McNeil and Eric Smith singled and Johnson doubled to account for 2 runs. Johnson eventually came home on a ground out by Della Piazza to knot the score at 6-6.
