It was a wonderful day for Summit football as they fired on every cylinder to convincingly defeat previously unbeaten Dover. The victory made the Hilltoppers undisputed conference champs and closed the regular season undefeated. Summit had a marvelous 1st half as they dominated play and took advantage of two Dover turnovers to score 27 points while holding the powerful Dover team scoreless.

Summit took the opening kickoff and drove 75 yards in 12 plays to score. Passes to Daryl Toney and Brad Dolny moved the ball from the Summit 25 to the Dover 35 yard line. Runs by Jeff Della Piazza gave Summit a 1st down at the 20 yard line. A keeper by Schroeder and an 8 yard pass to Dwayne Reid put the ball on the 8 yard line where Della Piazza took it in for the score. On their next possession Summit drove from the Hilltoppers 20 to the Dover 22 yard line before turning the ball over on downs. However, Dover fumbled on their first play and Summit took over. Della Piazza ran to the 9 and 2 plays later Schroeder hit Reid with a 9 yard pass for the 1st of Dwayne Reid's 4 TDs.

After Dover was forced to punt Dwayne Reid returned to ball 18 yards to the Dover 42 yard line, On the very next play Schroeder connected on a beautiful 42 yard pass to Reid, who got clear in spite of double coverage. The final score of the half came when Kyle Dobiszewski intercepted a Dover pass on the Hilltoppers 35 yard line and returned it to the Dover 10. On the next play Schroeder again connected with Dwayne Reid to make it a 27-0 ball game at the half.

Everyone knew that Dover wouldn't quit, after all, 5 of their 8 victories had been come from behind wins. They took the kickoff that started the 2nd half and went 69 yards in 7 plays, giving notice that they would be a force to reckoned with in the 2nd half. Summit kept the situation under control by mounting a 64 yard scoring drive of their own. Starting on the Hilltoppers 36 yard line Della Piazza had runs of 19 and 10 yards that were sandwiched around an 8 yard run by Schroeder. This gave Summit a 1st down at the Dover 25 yard line. Dolny scored on a 25 yard pass to restore Summit's lead to 27 points.

Of course Dover wasn't done as they scored again on a 50 yard , 6 play, drive. However, their 2 point conversion try failed when Dwayne Reid intercepted the pass. Summit put the icing on the cake by taking the next kickoff and going 76 yards for a score The drive was highlighted by a 14 yard pass to Todd Kaiser, a 16 yard run by Reid, an 8 yard pass to Pierce Talbot and a 22 yard TD strike to Dwayne Reid. Dover would score once more but it was immaterial.

Schroeder connected on 5 TD passes giving him 20 for the season and breaking his brother Keith's record of 19 set back in 1999. Reid's 4 TD receptions tied him for the single game record with Bill Wheeler, also set in 1999
