Summit's 1st possession went nowhere and Mendham took over on their 25. They moved the ball well down to the Summit 33 but Pierce Talbot halted the drive by intercepting a pass at the Summit 24 yard line. This seemed to ignite Summit. They picked up a pair of 1st downs via the running of Jeff Della Piazza and a pass reception by Dwight Reid. With a 1st down at the Mendham 41 runs by Talbot and Arthur Copperthite combined to make it 1st and 10 on the Mendham 30 yard line. On the next play Talbot went wide right to score . Will Gruetzmacher kicked the extra point. As in the past games he was perfect at kicking PATs. For the season he is 12 for 12 on extra points. Halfway through the 2nd quarter Summit recovered a Mendham fumble on the Mendham 35 yard line. Della Piazza moved the ball to the 33 and on the next play Dwight Reid sliced through double coverage to get free in the end zone and Rob Schroeder threw a perfect pass for a Summit's 2nd TD.

The 2nd half began with Summit launching its best sustained drive of the game. It started on Summit's 38 and ended 8 plays later when Todd Kaiser hauled in a TD pass in the corner of the end zone. Summit stopped Mendham's next drive when Kaiser intercepted a pass at the Summit 7 yard line. Summit couldn't move the ball and was forced to punt from their 13 yard line. Unfortunately, the ball was centered over Della Piazza's head giving Mendham a 2 point safety. Following the safety Summit was forced to kick from their 20 and Mendham took over on their 35 yard line. Ten play later Mendham moved 65 yards to score. A two point conversion made the score 21-10 and changed the complexion of the game. Mendham forced Summit to punt on the next series and took over on their 27 yard line. However, the game was put out of reach when Anthony Rea intercepted a Mendham pass and returned it to the Mendham 20. A penalty moved the ball back to the 30 but the interception seemed to crush Mendham's momentum. Arthur Copperthite moved the ball to 23 and Talbot took it to the 19. From there Della Piazza covered the final 19 yards in one play for the final score.

Summit showed that they have a variety of receivers beyond the Reid twins. In the second half the passes were concentrated on Kaiser, Dolny and Della Piazza.
