On Summit's 1st possession they drove from the Summit 48 to the Weequahic 18 before turning it over on downs. Summit's 2nd possession led to the only score of the 1st half. The drive was highlighted by a 13 yard run by Pierce Talbot and a 17 yard reception by Brad Dolny. Jeff Della Piazza covered the final 6 yards for the score..
Summit took the opening kickoff of the 2nd half and quickly scored on a 64 yard pass to Dwayne Reid. On Summit's next possession they had their longest sustained drive of the game, covering 80 yards in 9 plays. The drive featured a 27 yard screen pass to Della Piazza and a 30 yard pass to Daryl Toney. The latter gave Summit a 1st down on the Weequahic 4 yard line. Arthur Copperthite ran it in from there. At the start of the 4th quarter Weequahic drove 76 yards in 10 plays for their only score of the day. Dwayne Reid retaliated by taking the following kick off and returning it 86 yards for the final score. The run was aided by a beautiful block by Toney that leveled the only tackler left between Reid and the goal line.
Will Gruetzmacher's PAT streak of 24 straight extra points, 36 if you go back to 2002, finally ended when his 2nd try of the day failed. As has happened so often this season, Summit was hurt by too many penalties. They were flagged for 85 yards compared to Weequahic's 35 yards.
